Guilt feelings are common, healthy, and useful in short durations. However, when they linger passed their usefulness, guilt feelings can cause emotional distress and lead to more serious psychological issues.

Address overactive guilt with Monkey therapy:
Uncover negative beliefs. Overactive guilt usually originates in childhood. The more we feel guilty as children, the more likely we develop habitual guilt as adults. Discover the underlying, sometimes hidden, negative beliefs that trigger your habitual guilt.
Change negative perceptions. Once uncovered, the process helps you to challenge your unrealistic beliefs (ones like I must be kind and patient at all times) then guides you in replacing them with healthier, more realistic alternatives.
Become better at dealing with guilt. Learning self-compassion helps you put your culpability into perspective, so you can let go of your overactive guilt or accept responsibility in a healthier, more productive way.
