Dr Jena Field — Specialisation
Come as you are. Affirming therapy and coaching exploring identity, relationships, sexuality, gender, and sex work in an environment where you never need to justify or hide who you are.
MONKEY THERAPY FOR LGBTQI+ & SEX POSITIVITY
You might be questioning, coming out, working through a relationship, or simply wanting a therapist who already gets it. Either way, you won't spend your sessions explaining or defending yourself. You can bring all of you, and we start from there.
A different view
Stigma, rejection, bullying and discrimination can leave deep marks on the nervous system. They can show up as shame, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, depression or isolation, and they shape how you relate to yourself and others. Together, we separate your own voice and values from the messages you absorbed from family, culture and the world around you.
What to expect in sessions
Start where you are. Bring whatever feels most pressing: a relationship, an identity question, a family situation, or something you can't name yet.
Make room for what you've been carrying. Give space to the hurt, anger or grief left by past experiences, so they have less hold on the present. .
Strengthen your sense of self. Grow in confidence and get clearer about who you are and what you want.
Find your way forward. We'll use talk therapy alongside somatic and neuroprocessing approaches, adapting the work to your experiences, identity and needs.
SEX-POSITIVE SERVICES
In 2018, I answered the call of a friend and force-of-nature, Leya Tanit, to create a charity that would provide mental health support to sex workers. As a consultant, board member, therapist, and coach for Pineapple Support, I am proud to say that the organisation has helped over 20,000 sex workers (and counting). It has been an honour and education for me as a professional.
In this endeavour, I have come to respect diverse ways of relating to our bodies, to our communities, and to each other. I provide a sex-positive practice that recognises the value and validity of sex work as well as the challenges that can arise from it.
I provide support to clients in polyamory, open, non-traditional as well as traditional relationship structures. I help clients address both internalised and external stigmas and mental health challenges in order to live the life they want.
