Processing traumatic experiences through neuroprocessing and brain-body approaches, so the past stops driving the present.
MONKEY THERAPY FOR TRAUMA
Trauma can leave us feeling as though the past is still happening. Even when we're safe, our minds and bodies may continue to react as if we're under threat.
This can affect how we think, feel, behave and relate to others, leaving us feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected.
A different view
Monkey Therapy combines CBT, IFS, Brainspotting and body-based approaches to help you process traumatic experiences and develop new ways of responding.
Treatment is tailored to your needs and always moves at a pace that feels manageable.
What to expect in sessions
Building safety and resilience. First, we develop ways for you to manage difficult emotions and physical reactions, creating a sense of safety before exploring painful experiences.
Understanding your trauma responses. We explore the parts of you still carrying the past and how they influence your thoughts, feelings and behaviour today.
Changing limiting beliefs. We identify beliefs shaped by trauma and develop more balanced and compassionate ways of seeing yourself and the world.
Processing emotional wounds. We work with the feelings and experiences you've had to suppress or carry. You reconnect with and soothe the younger, vulnerable parts of you, so the past stops driving the present.
Releasing stuck responses. Use IFS and Brainspotting to process distressing experiences, reduce the intensity of triggers and develop greater emotional flexibility.
Reconnecting with your mind and body. Learn to soothe your nervous system, manage trauma-related reactions and respond to difficult emotions with greater confidence and self-compassion.
The aim is not to erase the past, but to help you feel safer in the present and freer to move forward.
