Perimenopause turning the volume up? Compassionate, practical therapy for anxiety, irritability, rage, brain fog, and overwhelm, including for neurodivergent women.
MONKEY THERAPY FOR PERIMENOPAUSE
Suddenly small things seem big. And the bigger things you've been quietly managing become overwhelming. You're snapping at people you love. You're awake worrying at 3am. Your words go missing, your focus is out the window, and you feel like a stranger in your own skin.
If this sounds familiar, you're not losing it. Perimenopause can turn the volume up on everything.
Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause, when hormone levels begin to fluctuate. It can last several years and often starts in your 40s, sometimes earlier. Alongside hot flushes and irregular periods, many women experience perimenopause anxiety, irritability, rage, low mood, poor sleep, brain fog, and a sense that they can't cope the way they used to.
To make things worse, we're often told it's stress, or age... or my favourite, "it's just your hormones."
A different view
Yes, hormonal shifts can intensify our emotions. That doesn't mean heightened emotions are just something to endure. They are valid and valuable. Feelings carry wisdom: what we're missing, what we've outgrown, what we're no longer willing to put up with.
Rage, anxiety, and tears aren't signs we're failing. They're our monkeys, trying to tell us something.
Together we build a toolkit that fits your life and your brain:
Calming your nervous system with brain-body practices that work when your head won't stop
Making sense of your emotions so you can extract their wisdom and tap into their energy instead of being overwhelmed by them
Sorting the small from the big so you can see what's hormonal noise and what needs a change
Understanding the overlap with ADHD and autism because many neurodivergent women (including me) find that perimenopause supercharges existing challenges
Untangling the bigger questions about identity, relationships, boundaries and what you want from the next chapter
Finding what works for you with practical steps to track your patterns and see what actually helps.
It's pragmatic, compassionate and adapted to you.
